(X).S.M.L Annual Show - Fall 2012

Located in Fairground-ex Bengkel SCBD Sudirman Jakarta, one of the coolest local brand (X).S.M.L made their annual show for fall 2012. Whoaa, just lucky could witness this show. At first when entering the gate and registering my invitation, me getting a huge paper bag as a compliment. Well, everybody whom invited got it. despite mostly filled by sponsors samples hmmm make sense hahaha.. but also I get 20% discount voucher which valid till next month inside the catalog bundle, not so bad. plus IDR 1 million voucher for Noir (another more luxury RTW brand by Biyan).

Okay then after registering my invitation, I move to the space where all the invitees wait for the show to start. They named it Terminal (X).S.M.L. This space decorated like an airport's gate before boarding to the aircraft. And thank you for the small treats. All the guest regaled by snacks like small cake, small sushi roll and soft drinks, oh... mineral water of course. They really know how to treat the guest very well.

7.30pm, all the guest welcome to have a seat. They didn't impose the fixed seat when we receive the invitation, so the guest freely to choose the seat - who quick get. I never imagine this place could be so extensive. And I was amazed with their decoration. They made a replica of an aircraft!! and named it (X).S.M.L airways - Journey to Tomorrow Land. Oh.. for the short story, this fall 2012 collection, (X).S.M.L titling their show "Tomorrow Land". So, this show actually brought me to see the "tomorrow land" collection. Begins with opening the show by Ata - (natalia) as the host. They choose the best dressed guy and girl. Both fell to fashion editors. Seemed like unfair, me wished they're bloggers hahahaha..

When the lights were dimmed and the music starts, the replica aircraft glowing and of course the models out one by one in whites. Clean! In this tomorrow land collection, Biyan as the creative director of (X).S.M.L inspired by art, music, photography and literatures. As the result, we could see the modern minimalism in the sculptural details, and architectural clean line. Also asymmetrical cut (the gimmick of the brand), three dimensional, polkadots, prints, many kinds of texture and motif. For some case, the models use a same outfit in any different ways. This is actually the different concept of (X).S.M.L when they put futurism breath here, ain't like usual they are, vintage look-a like. 

As the color palette, they put monochromes like white, khaki, grey then dusty pink, navy in addition and absolutely, Black!!!! The important color of the season. Speaking about the color they showed here, I am really impressed with khakis they put in shirts. This is could be an alternative ways to have a clean look beside whites. 

In materials, Biyan is using crisp cotton, twill, knits, leathers and some sheers. My eyes catch an interesting outfit, when the black long-sleeves layered with black slight leathers... inspiring. They also used any metals and glow in the dark pieces as the accessory. YSL spring metal pumps thang continue!

However, about 108 outfits were showed here (makes my neck stiff enough haha). This collection really represents creativity, and the energetic young spirit contemporarily. Brings more courage. Biyan also stated that this collection could be wore in all ages, especially they are whose young spirit. Too bad, I missed the show's after-party (sudden-business related). I've heard many delicious liquors served. :( But anyway after see the collection. So, will you be the tomorrow land-er?
